BC Ministry of Energy
and Mines Strikes Gold in SafetyLine
Vancouver, Sept 29th, 2003 —Tsunami
Solutions Ltd., of Vancouver, British Columbia, is
pleased to add the British Columbia Ministry of Energy
and Mines to its growing list of Customers. This is the
third Ministry in the British Columbia Government that
has selected SafetyLine to protect their employees who
work alone.
SafetyLine is currently in use by nearly 1,000 employees
from the BC Ministry of Water, Land, and Air Protection
and the Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management.
Initially the SafetyLine system will be used by the Mine
Inspectors who are visiting some of the most remote
regions in the province.
All employers in British Columbia and throughout Canada
are required to monitor the safety status and location
of all employees who work alone or in isolation.
The Tsunami SafetyLine “Automated Lone Worker Monitoring
Service” has proven itself to be the most effective
solution for helping companies across Canada protect
their lone workers and comply with “Working Alone”
legislation.
The SafetyLine automated Lone Worker Monitoring service
uses telephony and internet technologies to provide the
most reliable and affordable solution for companies and
government organizations to meet both the regulatory and
moral obligations of protecting employees who work
alone.
Employees are currently using a wide range of devices
including wired telephones, cellular phones, satellite
phones, one and two way pagers, wireless Personal
Digital Assistants (PDAs), GPS devices, wireless and
wired laptop computers as well as standard office
computers. SafetyLine works with most devices and
communication networks, in short, SafetyLine works with
your existing communication devices.
Throughout the workday, employees report their location
and status to SafetyLine. SafetyLine automatically
tracks the employees. In the event that an employee
fails to check-in, SafetyLine automatically contacts
persons who can initiate an Emergency Search and Rescue
procedure.
