SafetyLine Protects Environmental Enforcement Employees

Vancouver, BC, October 4, 2007—Tsunami Solutions Ltd., of Vancouver, British Columbia is pleased to announce that following an RFP and the subsequent awarding of a contract, the Environment Canada employees who work in Environment Enforcement in the Prairie & Northern Region will be protected by SafetyLine™ when they work alone or in isolation.

The Environment Enforcement branch aims to create and sustain the most effective and efficient environmental and wildlife law enforcement function in fulfillment of statutory requirements under the Acts administered by the Department by taking action against those who violate environmental and wildlife laws. This ensures that federal environmental and wildlife laws and regulations are respected and that enforcement measures are taken against alleged offenders. Environmental enforcement officers enforce federal legislation that deals with different risks to the environment and its biodiversity. These laws regulate, for example, the use of toxic substances, their release to air, water or land, as well as the import and export of substances that present a risk to the environment and/or human life or health, such as hazardous wastes and hazardous recyclable materials.

Regulations across Canada have been enacted to ensure that Lone Workers receive the same level of protection as those workers who work in offices or work yards. SafetyLine™ has been proven to be the most effective tool to automatically monitor these workers and identify Emergency situations.

The SafetyLine™ automated employee monitoring service uses telephony and internet technologies to provide the most reliable and affordable solution for companies and government organizations to meet both the regulatory and moral obligations of protecting employees who work alone. Employees are currently using a wide range of devices including wired telephones, cellular phones (Telus, Bell & Rogers ), satellite phones ( Globalstar & Iridium ), Blackberry devices, wireless Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), GPS/LBS devices, wireless and wired laptop computers as well as standard office computers. SafetyLine™ works with most communication devices and networks, in short, SafetyLine™ works with your existing communication devices.

Throughout the workday, employees report their location and status to SafetyLine™ which automatically tracks the employees. In the event that an employee fails to check-in, SafetyLine™ automatically contacts persons who can initiate an Emergency Search and Rescue procedure.
